About Lion & Hippo

Lion & Hippo was founded in 2012 by four faithful believers Joe, Mimi, Tam and Bao. From the very beginning the idea was simple - build a self-sustainable ministry so we can continue to focus our efforts on serving those around us in need.

In the spring of 2012 we dove head first and designed a body of artwork that would later be translated into our very first line of retrofit tees and art prints. We launched our initial line with a campaign to "Wear Out Hunger" in support of the World Food Programme, the largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger. By the grace of God within the first day of our launch we were able to raise and donate 320 meals to a hungry child in need.

During the time leading up to Lion & Hippo's launch we were still in a state of prayer and discernment about our ministry. What we needed was a strong reminder of our Christian beliefs to reinstate, ground, and inspire our purpose as a ministry. After countless hours of prayer, discernment, copy writing, graphic design, and tweaking we finally arrived at what came to be known as The Believer's Manifesto

The manifesto was originally intended for internal use only but we received so many requests for The Believer's Manifesto that it is now our most popular item. We hope the words presented in our manifesto below will continue to inspire countless generations of Christians to come.
